FC Bayern - BEHIND THE LEGEND

How we developed and implemented the launch campaign for the “FC BAYERN – BEHIND THE LEGEND” documentary series for Amazon Prime Video.

Background

For the first time in its history, FC Bayern Munich offers viewers a look at what goes on behind the scenes and in the changing rooms of the top-tier club in the “Behind the Legend” Amazon series. The WWP Group is providing assistance with the launch of the successful Amazon Prime Video production “FC Bayern – Behind the Legend”.

Our tasks

The WWP Group is responsible for developing concepts and designing the visuals of the primary campaign, as well as for the implementation and management of all campaign elements in the out-of-home, paid digital, ambient, print and social media areas.

Tailored communication measures for maximum success

Exclusive insights into the world’s biggest football club. Amazon Prime Video takes you behind the scenes to experience the legendary FC Bayern Munich – candid, up close and personal, like you have never seen them before. The tear through the picture – as the campaign’s visual stylistic device – symbolises a look behind the scenes, stirring up curiosity and excitement. On the basis of this guiding concept, the WWP Group developed and produced the key art as the foundation for all communicative measures. The multichannel campaign spanned from a broad selection of static and animated advertising tools to designing the concept for an LED perimeter display and designing and implementing social media measures.

Results

The six-part documentary series was launched in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on 2 November 2021 and was widely covered in the media. In this context, the WWP Group provided support for both pre-launch communication and the four-week campaign phase by producing and supplying advertising measures tailored to the target group. “FC Bayern – Behind the Legend” is already considered a streaming success, with the international launch to follow on 8 December 2021.
